The M
agnetization of a ferromagnet (М) is a function not only of the magnetizing field magnitude (Н), but also of a number of factors like temperature (Т), variable magnetic field (~Н~),mechanical stresses (σ), time, chemical transformations [1]. These factors act only with an external constant magnetic field or when the ferromagnet is in the remanent state. The remanence occurring under the effect of mechanical stresses in the presence of a field can be of either type after the field is relieved, namely, piezoremanence ( Mpr ) and dynamic remanence ( Mdr ).
Chemical remanence. Chemical remanence (Mcr) is the type of isothermal remanence occurring in the presence of constant magnetic field during changes in the number or volume of ferromagnet phases in chemical reactions.
The maximum remanence values are obtained in different fields. Figure 1 illustrates the regularities of changes in thermoremanence ( Mtr ), ideal ( Mir ) and normal ( Mr ) remanences affected by a magnetic field. The maximum thermoremanence is seen to occur in the weakest fields. In their turns, variously acquired remanences have different resistances to the action of demagnetizing fields. Figure 2 shows that thermoremanence ( Mtr ) is the most resistant to the effect of a variable field. The Field Is Real This put a more solid foundation under the concept of potential energy. Maxwell showed that wherever a field exists, energy is distributed throughout that region of space. Until recently, knowledge of these disparate electrical features of biology was sequestered in narrow subdisciplines. That’s because the study of bioelectricity had been increasingly siloed into neuroscience, and in electrophysiology, which focused a lot on nerves and neuroscience – to the extent that scientists assumed bioelectrics were only used by nerves. One of the more astonishing features of the electrome is that animal electricity is by no means confined to animals. We’re not the only ones with these ion channels. We had had glimpses of that reality, too, much earlier than we could reasonably account for it.
