Riots....no LRAD

Remember the accoustic anti-riot trucks LRAD (and some infrared ones too) that were in the news a few years back? Does it seem odd that none of these are to be seen during the course of all the riots? Someone holding back 'cause the riots are serving a purpose?

Strongly believe they won’t roll those out until the “unpaid” riots begin in earnest.

You know…when people are starving and resolute.

…Yep, no need to waste time and money or risk possible capture of said equipment with the already “controlled”. I’ve also wondered if there is a “kill switch” on these in case the equipment is captured.

With all of the apparent pre-setting for these events I’ve always found it curious that no one has thought to use the fire hydrant system against security. Surely one can buy a good sized used fire hose at a city surplus sale or simply steal one from inside a large building. Then all one needs is a wrench and voila you have your own water canon.

Ingenuity from a crowd that thinks critical theory is a political process? I rather doubt many engineer majors are hanging with them.

LRAD is a scalar system. The US Army would probably only use them in a violent riot that included much gunfire and fire bombing. Its my prognosis that the LRAD system is lethal at high setting.

Depends on which head they’re thinking with Bill (-; (I love a good callback)

I’ve enjoyed that thought exercise many times my own self…

Say for instance we were to get involved in a land war with Asians  If it came down to guerilla
tactics I’d sure be hesitant to retrieve even the small arms after a tactical win. It’s yesterday’s
tech to lock down the rifles if captured or worse they could track each one and follow the men
back to their “nests”.

It’s not 1984’s Terminator anymore…

The Kill Switch will be here for all.

A neighbor had to pay to have a breathalyzer installed in his car in order to keep his license after a DWI. The car would not start until he breathed into a tube. The experience, cost and humiliation resulted in him no longer drinking. Plus he gave up the painkillers he had been taking for for years due to a back injury. He’s now alcohol and drug free.

That logic got us the Patriot Act.
