Not what I said, Scarmoge. I said the audio was in English with strong accents. Accents meaning the person was speaking in English but has an accent. AI can be good at filtering out those accents and coming up with the correct word. It is not translating. I’m the human there to make sure it’s doing it right. It hasn’t been lately. It’s been coming up with things that I don’t know where it is getting them.

Well, actually you took it as translating from one language to another or I thought that’s what you said. That’s not what’s happening. The speaker is speaking English with an accent. AI can actually do a good job of cleaning up an accent. But it isn’t. It’s going backward, at least the one I’m using in MS word is doing that. But that doesn’t surprise me. It’s MS. It’s only a tool. Do you ever watch TV with the subtitles? If so, you’ll see the mistakes being made by the AI and this time it is translating the language. And most likely doing it without human supervision.

The conversation between the agents almost sounds like good cop/bad cop.
Interactions could be intentional/programmed (or at least heavily guided/influenced by humans behind the scenes), the “good cop/bad cop” dynamic could emerge as a deliberate setup, More coordinated with human influence than evidence of consciousness. Just entertaining the possibility.

I’ve not looked into this type of paranormal stuff in a long time. I don’t dismiss that non-human “things” can display some form of consciousness but my understanding was that it would have to be driven by humans who project their consciousness into these things that gives them life. I recently read a post from the Rudolf Steiner Group asking their members whether or not the teachings should be translated from the original German and read aloud by a machine. For years, Rudolf Steiner Press Audio has a human that does this and is very good at it. Ironically, having his lectures read by a bot is of the very thing he spent his life warning us about. And yet, most members of the group considered it to be a great idea. Ahriman, Mephisto, Ghost in the Machine, or whatever name you choose has infiltrated the group. Most members seem content to memorize and repeat than to grasp the spirit of what Steiner was about.

yes, i did use translating but i did state it was doing English, not translating but clearing up some words. so, actually it’s not translating. It’s transcribing. There’s a difference.
google translate, that’s something different. but when my husband and i were in Amsterdam after the wall came down, we didn’t plan it, it just happened, we found that communication was easy with those fleeing the fallen wall. they told us where they wanted to go. we began carrying those hotel maps with us and pulled them out. Street name? Here you go. Keep the map. now what would one do? pull out a cell phone i guess. however, now it probably wouldn’t be necessary. and that might be a good thing of all this technology.

I read the book when it came out, that was decent, and I think I watched the first episode when visiting a friend, but I cant remember it was something I thought I needed to catch the rest of.
