Weeb Union seems to have some pretty good reports.

Wagner has been gone for months now. Leader dead, money, cocaine, gold etc. confiscated by the FSB and all accounts closed. The chair of the Duma security committee declared the disbandment of troops giving the option to join the Russian army, take an oath or take a hike. So they’re gone! Doesn’t speak well of this Youtuber, whoever he is, putting up Wagner as clickbait. But I suppose it could help him make money…

Maybe not gone. People & orgs say a lot of things… Just sayin’.

So how would they be paid and by whom??? Mercenaries require payment as we all know.

You expect it to be broadcasted as to whom and how they’re paid?

No, it’s just to illustrate the level of the crap being distributed by lightweight Youtubers!

What makes YTer’s and other media reporting the demise of Wagner any less lightweight?
If you choose to believe Duma and FSB that’s okay with me. It’s similar to believing CIA, IMO.
I think there’s every possibility that Wagner still exists and is active.
All we can do here is speculate; this whole forum is essentially speculation.
Speculation is good. It presents alternatives.

YT is full of people, mainly North American, that has never been to Russia, don’t speak any foreign language nor have they reliable contacts in Russia and yet spreads all sort of “info” on what’s going on there. This is strange until you remember that very nice income streams can be generated with many views on YT. As for the CIA being the same as the FSB and operating in the same way, this is clearly not the case. The FSB is primarily a law enforcement organisation with some counter intelligence activities attached.

Ok, I’ve been to Russia, speak a smattering of languages and don’t believe much of anything of what I hear and half of what I see. If you choose to think FSB has more integrity than CIA simply because of their description, that’s fine with me. I am presenting an alternative here. You’re not being asked to believe, or, even consider it.

Take it for what you will. BYE!

I didn’t say they had more integrity but that they are different and have to be viewed differently. I’m sorry you have such a low tolerance for opinions other than you own.

Wagner group may not be operating on the Russian/Ukrainian soil anymore, but they are still muscle arm of Putin in African affairs.

@QVBB
See latest WION report I just posted.
Can’t prove it but think Wagner’s been there at least a month already, probably longer.

Can’t prove this to be truthful but it should not be considered outrageous to believe Prigozhin is still alive and doing something important, but totally out of sight. A theory that is not at all too outrageous to consider is V. Putin is ‘cleaning house’. In other words, consolidating his power, and ridding himself and his most loyal followers of certain elements in the Russian hierarchy, or oligarchy, and various elements in the Central Bank of Russia. What would be outrageous is to think the entire Russian hierarchy love, trust, honor and willingly obey Putin. I started coming to this point of view ever since the downing of flight MH17 on 17 July 2014, while flying over eastern Ukraine.

I think it’s entirely possible. All I can be fairly sure of is Wagner is active now and probably has been all along.

“The Russians want Wagner back in Ukraine…” (From one month ago.)

The attention to Wagner is mainly a media phenomenon resulting from the PR activities of Prigozhin. It was in reality Dmiri Utkin who had all the military contacts as he had served both in the army command and in the GRU. So all the contracts were handled by him using mid level contacts and very likely money changed hands, there is still corruption in Russia. This was likely cleaned up by Gerasimov but since it was at a mid level nothing was reported in the media.
The command chain is the nervous system of any army and Wagner fitted very poorly into the SMO command chain. We witnessed several incidents showing that.
With the mutiny Prigozhin made a major mistake: he made Putin look bad!!! But Prigozhin had made so many enemies that all Putin had to do was sit and wait until someone got him.
I think it very unlikely there are still active operational units of Wagner in Africa as it requires a good backoffice function to work. The mainstay of any army unit is logistics which comes as a premium when operating abroad.
As for the credibility of the media:
We’re in a war situation: Distrust and Verify!

The ‘real problem’ is that NOTHING can be forever extinguished, no ‘matter’ what ‘they’ try to do.
