… according to “Science” the last Mass Extinction Event occurred roughly 66 million years ago. Not much left but a lot of small mammals running around in the remains of the last remaining Megafauna (not a pun on … well you know … but it could be). If this is the “best of all possible worlds” (really Leibniz?) evolution (and or God) could do in that length of time … Maybe it is time for another Mass Extinction Event and see if either could fare better in the next 66 million years and bring about a slightly better possible world.

Well I’ve been rat-holing all the culture I can a-la “Canticle for Leibowitz”, but leaving out the last decade+ of Caligula-esque madness…the way things are going we should see Trump appoint a horse soon…and I’m not talking about A.O.C.

Miller Jr. that spans centuries following a nuclear war, focusing on a Catholic monastery dedicated to preserving knowledge. Its just a temporary statement of frustration with ‘society’; I am not one of those children who actively go around depressed all the time causing mayhem. I am sure everyone feels that way from time to time. It’s a form of black humour. But yes, there seem to be a lot of people actively going about for destruction since they feel helpless and probably subconsciously impotent…

And if I am compelled to be involved, where is the manager—I have something to say about this. Is there no manager? To whom shall I make my complaint?”

The words “Kali yuga” come to mind. Well, to my mind anyhow.
I’m half joking cuz our HOA jumped up to 390$ a month and it’s barely snow removal and leaves and water and trash. Shouldn’t be that much. No window washing or security or real parking enforcement.
Also I was riffing on the US GOV as an HOA cuz stupid corporate crap.

As I mentioned before…it wouldn’t take you long to find dozens of cases in which the homeowners were scammed out of their entire home by the HOA over what amounts to be a few thousand dollars worth of “fines”. Typically it will be the elderly but I’ve seen many a case involving Joe Everyone, that for some reason, didn’t get these bills notices (sometimes by design) or simply were not even made aware of a sudden foreclosure (in as little as a number of months) and lost their home in the process. If someone’s home is on the line…a face to face contact should always be attempted, if not required
Of course, HOA’s do not have the scam market cornered by any means…Some municipalities have used their police to enforce a policy that requires lawn maintenance to be done or unreasonable fines stack up. Sometimes independent contractors have been run off in order for fines to reach the foreclosure stage…again by design.
